Rahul Mishra Biography

Born in the sleepy village of Malhausi in Uttar Pradesh, Rahul spent his childhood with his parents and two sisters. Rahul's educational foundations were laid at a nearby government school followed by a graduate degree in Physics from Kanpur University (now known as Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University).

Mishra's discovered his knack for art, culture and music when he went to the National Institute of Design (NID) in Ahmedabad for a post graduate degree, which later turned out to be a turning point of his career. There, he was awarded the Best Student Designer Of The Year in 2005. Mishra made his debut in 2006 at Lakme Fashion Week with a collection using cotton handloom textiles from Kerala, especially off-white fabric with golden border of Kerala mundu. His debut collection helped him bag a scholarship at the Istituto Marangoni in Milan for diploma in fashion designing.

The designer launched his eponymous label Rahul Mishra in the year 2008 in Mumbai. The year 2014 saw Rahul Mishra rise to the global stage when he won the prestigious International Woolmark Prize. His award-winning capsule range, "The Lotus Effect" was based on the hexagon shapes and lotus motifs. The collection incorporated Chanderi fabric woven with 85% Merino wool with woolen zardozi embroidery by craftsmen of Kolkata. This was followed by his international debut in the Paris Fashion Week in 2015.

Currently, the label retails in the leading fashion stores and online portals across the world as well as some select boutique across India.

Ritu Kumar Biography

Ritu Kumar is an Indian fashion designer born in Mumbai in 1944. She attended school at Loreto Convent, Shimla before studying at Lady Irwin College, where she met and married Shashi Kumar. Ritu went on to study Art History at Briarcliff College in New York. Kumar began her fashion business in Kolkata, using two small tables and hand-block printing techniques. Beginning with bridal wear and evening clothes in the 1960s and 70s, she eventually moved into the international market in the subsequent two decades. In 2002, she launched the "Label" line in partnership with her son Amrish. In 2013, she was given the Padma Shri award by the Government of India. The designer focuses on natural fabrics and traditional printing and weaving techniques.

Architha Narayanam is an Indian fashion designer. Divya Gupta Biography

Divya Gupta is an Indian fashion designer. After her graduation from Sanskriti School in 2004, Divya completed her B. Com (Hons) degree from the Jesus and Mary College, Delhi University. The designer launched her own label in 2013, after spending three enriching years honing her skills at the esteemed university. According to her, "Novel silhouettes, innovative structural elements, new fangled patterns, wearability and originality are the essential elements in every creation at ‘Divya Gupta’ studio." Divya Gupta currently supplies innumerable garments to Evoluzione, Baidehi, Ole Couture, Kynaa, Mairah, and Fuel to name a few.

Prathyusha Garimella is an Indian fashion designer. She is a graduate from the University of Warwick and is a self-taught designer based in Hyderabad. The designer introduced her eponymous label in the year 2013. Seema Khan is an Indian fashion designer. She is the founder of Bandra 190, a luxury retail boutique in Mumbai. Rajesh Pratap Singh Biography

Rajdeep Ranawat Biography

Rajdeep Ranawat is an Indian fashion designer. He studied at The Lawrence School, Sanawar before graduating from the National Institute of Fashion Technology, Delhi in 2000. Veda Raheja Biography

Veda Raheja is an Indian fashion designer. She started her career as a fashion designer in the year 2007. She began as an intern in the fashion department of the international monthly magazine Seventeen India for eight months, right after finishing high school. Veda received formal education in Fashion Design at the Raffles Design International Institute, Mumbai from where she graduated in 2011 with the ‘Fashion Forward’ award for Design. Anuj Sharma Biography
